Disney's Roles Models?
Disney was known for producing wholesome films and programs that integrates values with contemporary trends and cultures. Everybody have their own cherished Disney heroes and fairy tales. Personally, I always loved Beauty and the Beast, Mulan and Cinderella.
In our time when people's lives could only get better, we still hold on to these dreams and hopes. Then came reality-tv shows where the viewers would no longer hope and dream but "live" and enjoy who they are. Teenagers could now see their real-life drama being flashed on the screen with a twist of that little fantasy and dreams that caused Disney an immortal fame.
Lizzie McGuire, High School Musical and Hannah Montana are just some of today's "live the fantasy" programs that have not only captivated the hearts of the teens, of which it was originally targeted, but also those who still believe in the reality of their dreams.
Hilary Duff, Vanessa Hudgens and Miley Cyrus became the living heroines of today's generation as teens around the world anxiously await for the reality of each of these icons' dreams. They automatically became role models for the young girls to look up to. However, except for the first, these girls turned from dream models into every parents' nightmare. Lasciviously photos of Hudgens and Cyrus is not continuously circulating the web and what used to be every parent's hope now becomes fears.
Surely both Hudgens and Cyrus are my favorites and they can do whatsoever they want with their lives and their bodies, but they also have to consider the number of children around the world that looks up to their examples. With their personal and fleeting desires, many dreams were broken. Now, is all lost? No, not at all.Everybody deserves a second chance. Just as everyone is entitled to this chance, I guess Vanessa and Miley likewise are. After all, they been true to themselves and we all commit mistakes( the only difference is how and how terrible it is).
